WrestleMania Coming To Tampa In April
WWE announces WrestleMania locations for the next three years and Tampa is one of them
WrestleMania 2020 was unfortunately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, WWE announced that Raymond James Stadium will be the home of WrestleMania for 2021. This year, the event will be held on April 10 and April 11.
“The opportunity for Tampa Bay to host WrestleMania in April is, in true WWE fashion, the perfect comeback story and marks a clear indication that our beautiful city is poised to bounce back stronger than ever. We can’t wait to once again showcase all that team Tampa Bay has to offer,” added Tampa Mayor Jane Castor.
The event was originally supposed to happen in Los Angeles, California, but due to restrictions in California regarding fans attending live events, it was moved to Tampa. This is great news for our community, as WrestleMania has been known to generate a massive economic impact on the cities it takes place in. A release from the WWE states WrestleMania 34, which took place in Orlando, generated $181 million in economic impact.
Currently, WWE is filing Raw and SmackDown "ThunderDome" inside of Tropicana Field in St. Pete. Information regarding ticket availability and safety protocols will be announced in the coming weeks.
