Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg: The three dayracing event is from 7:30 am - 6 pm Friday the 25th, 7:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday the 26th, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday the 27th. The 1.8 mile, 14 turn configuration fills areas near Albert Whitted Airport, The Dalí Museum, Pioneer Park, Duke Energy Center for the Arts and other waterfront areas. This year features 12 races, including the Indy Pro 2000, USF 2000 and the Mazda MX-5 Cup.
Gasparilla Music Festival 2022: 5-11:30 pm Friday, 1-11:30 pm Saturday and Sunday. More than 40 bands will be performing genres ranging from rock to R&B across four stages with top national headliners. The festival also showcases Tampa Bay’s best local musicians and offers street food from Tampa area restaurants. Tickets range from $45-$300, 12 and under are free.
Strawberry Bash: This free event will take place from 11 am - 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. As the strawberry harvest gets underway, Keel Farms hosts the Strawberry Bash at Keel & Curley Winery. This family friendly event will include Keel Farms strawberries, a wine release, an eating competition, food vendors, live entertainment and a kids’ fun zone.
Crab and Shrimp Festival: 5 pm -11 pm Friday, 11 am - 11 pm Saturday, 11 am - 4 pm Sunday. Eat some mixed seafood at the seventh annual festival with carnival rides, giant slides, hermit crab races, a wolf show, bird encounters, bands and more! $20 entry.
Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic: A weekend of racing in the streets of Tampa includes a 15K run at 6:45 am on Saturday, a 5K run at 9:15 am on Saturday and a half marathon at 6 pm on Sunday.
Pinellas African American Heritage Celebration: This free event takes place at 10 am - 4 pm on Saturday the 26th. The festival will feature historical presentations and exhibits, food trucks offering African American inspired cuisine, music by area performers and a mini-market with Black artisans, entrepreneurs and businesses.
Gulfport Get Rescued: From 10 am - 5 pm Saturday the 26th. Animal adoption groups from across the region bring available animals to this event with animal friendly shopping, a pet supply drive, wiener dog racing, the Bark-B-Que fundraiser and a street fair.
Tampa Bay Home Show: From 10 am - 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. Home improvement experts present exhibits, giveaways, door prizes and more related to the latest trends in home remodeling.
Roaring ‘20s Speakeasy Experience: From 7 - 8:30pm and 9 -10:30 pm Friday the 25th. Knock and say the password to enter a party in the basement of a church that was once an actual speakeasy. The night includes appearances by snitches, entertainment by a gangster and his right-hand man and music by Allison Doreen.
Black History Hall of Fame: From 11 am - 12 pm Wednesday the 23rd and 2-3 pm on Thursday the 24th. Bright Star Theater presents this 45 minute, fast paced set of skits to introduce more than a dozen groundbreakers and hall of famers that have largely contributed to shaping the nation’s past, present, and future. You’ll see everyone from Maya Angelou and Aretha Franklin to the Buffalo Soldiers and Mae Jemison.
