Spring Cleaning Checklist 2023

Spring Cleaning is almost here!

It is almost that time of year again! We all know how great it feels after the spring cleaning is done but it's always a pain to get started. Whether your house seems too big or you just don't know where to start, here is a checklist if things to do before you start cleaning for this year to help ease your mind a little.

1. Make a cleaning plan - Instead of jumping into the deep end, make a schedule for yourself, whether that's a week or the whole month. Spread out little jobs, each room, and each task to make it less stressful for you. Clean the kitchen one day, your bedroom the next, the bathroom after that, and so on. You can even schedule a day or time to declutter your closet, get rid of old tupperware, or even throw out old food from the refrigerator and pantry. This will lighten the load and immediately take off some of the pressure that comes with thinking of spring cleaning as a massive, overwhelming job.

2. Get yourself prepared - Make sure you have gotten enough household products to clean and declutter your home. This could include Clorox wipes, trash bags, any tools you may need, and maybe even some new storage containers!

3. Think about making a change - As part of spring cleaning, you may want to think about changing up your space. Maybe your style has changed or some rooms have just become a little bland. Doing this will help you to feel more excited about spring cleaning as well as give your home a fresh start to the rest of the year.

4. Don't rush - Usually, the only time pressure on spring cleaning is the pressure we put on ourselves. Most of the time there is no deadline on when you need to clean your house by, so lighten the emotional load by allowing your cleaning to take as long as it takes. Start early if it makes you feel better!

Hopefully, these four tips will help heighten your mood and lower the stress of your spring cleaning this year. Let us know when you start your spring cleaning and how long it takes you!
