Fall is here and that means the Spooky Season returns to Pasco County! It is the perfect time of year to get out and enjoy Halloween fun, festivals, and scares for all ages. From factual ghost stories and haunted houses to pumpkin patches and kid-friendly trick-or-treats. Get in the Halloween spirit with a full lineup of fall fun!
Howl-O-Scream
Howl-O-Scream is a yearly Halloween fright fest and Tampa Bay's number one haunted attraction held at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay! Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream returns this year, taking over the entire park with haunted houses, scare zones, sinister shows, and more! Horror-filled haunted houses are back with a vengeance. New and returning favorite houses await your demise. Experience screams & frights at any moment as you make your way through several scare zones. Plus, with roaming hordes, the horror awaits at every twist and turn. Howl-O-Scream is intended for a mature audience. This event contains intense adult content such as violence, gore, and blood.
Zoo Tampa: Creatures of the Night
Ghouls and goblins of all ages can enjoy eerie fun on select nights this October. Join our mischievous characters for a night of Halloween adventures complete with animals, spooky frights, and festive treats! Meet your favorite storybook villains, dance with the Spider Queen, play a game with the Lost Boys, and more await throughout the Zoo. Get up close to unforgettable animals and enjoy special chats with our animal care team. Join pirates for a jolly good time of magic and storytelling or meet Dr. HooDoo and his lovely assistant and experience his comical street show. Sample delicious treats and drinks throughout the zoo. From savory to sweet, there is something for everyone to sink their teeth into. This year’s event welcomes the Swamp Witch, a mysterious new resident who is looking to make a deal. Known to all who fear her as Blackwater Mattie, this spooky character spends her nights mixing potions and conjuring spells in the darkest corners of Florida’s murky swamps where few dare to tread.
River Walk Trick-or-Treat
Join us for the 6th annual Riverwalk Trick or Treat event, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 4 pm – 7 pm. This is a FREE community event! Children in costume and their families are invited to come and trick or treat along the Riverwalk as well as enjoy fun activities. There will be over 50 treat stations participating along the Riverwalk from Water Works Park to MacDill Park including Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. At the conclusion of the event, we invite you to stick around and enjoy the Halloween Lighted Boat Parade along the Hillsborough River.
Scream-a-Geddon
SCREAM-A-GEDDON is Florida's Premier Horror Park and voted #1 Haunted House in the USA! Featuring 6 terrifying haunted attractions and a Monster Midway where customers can enjoy games, food, drinks, monsters, and scares! Food, beverages, beer, and wine are sold at the park. Please see park hour on the website, as every night differs. SCREAM-A-GEDDON is recommended for adults and teens, but younger children may attend if parents choose to bring them.
Hyde Park Village Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin Patch returns to Hyde Park Village! Pop by the patch to find your perfect pumpkin from October 4th – October 26th in Village Circle, Tampa. Proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch to benefit The Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Stoll through Hyde Park for beautiful views and lots of things to do!
Pirate Water Taxi: Haunter River Tour
After taking a year off, Haunted Tours are back! We have an all-new crew of haunted storytellers sharing well-known tales of terror and Tampa’s eerie past! The cruise will include terror filled-storytelling, ghostly horror, and haunted happenings on this 45-minute storytelling ride aboard one of Tampa’s most popular attractions. Pirate Water Taxi is a fleet of five pirate-themed Water Taxi vessels in Downtown Tampa that is owned and operated by Yacht StarShip Cruises & Events. The Water Taxis operate 7-days a week, with longer hours on the weekends and during special events. Daily admission allows for unlimited “Hop On, Hop Off” boarding all day from any of the stops which are conveniently located along the Hillsborough River and Tampa’s waterways. Visit “must-see” dining, drinking, and entertainment establishments along each stop including Tampa’s Riverwalk, Sparkman Wharf/ Channel District, Harbour Island, Davis Island and more.
An Eerie Evening at the Tampa Bay Hotel
An Eerie Evening at the Tampa Bay Hotel will be held on October 28, 29 and 30, 2022. See the Museum in the moonlight as you've never see it before and explore Victorian horror stories brought to life! Period lighting and candles set the stage for tales of monsters, fantasy, crime and more. Lantern light flickers off the walls as visitors travel to the brink of a shadow world. Visitors to Eerie Evening will meet Victorian spirits, including Edgar Allen Poe, explore some of the best-known and creepiest tales of the 1800s, view early horror movies, and more. Comb through each exhibit room to complete a scavenger hunt, then catch a glimpse of the future with a card reading. An Eerie Evening at the Tampa Bay Hotel is a rare opportunity to visit the Museum after dark. This event is intended for visitors ages 14 and above. Busch Gardens Spooktacular
At Busch Gardens’ all-new Spooktacular, guests will step into a whimsical world full of enchantment with Kandy, a witch-in-training! A costume parade, storytime, and trick or treating are some of the activities guests will find in this immersive Halloween experience. Busch Gardens’ Spooktacular will be casting magical spells from 12 – 4 p.m. at the Festival Walkway. A colorful parade of costumes will bring the Spooktacular Costume Parade to life. On this one-of-a-kind catwalk, every kid gets their time to shine! Children 13 and younger are welcome to dress up in costumes. All costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park. In addition, face painting is not permitted on any guests unless it is done by park artists. Guests 14 and older are not permitted to wear costumes, masks, or hoods to the event.
Undead in the Water
UNDead in the Water is Tampa's premier authentic nautical haunted attraction. Traverse multiple decks of this historic WWII cargo ship armed only with nerves of steel and a will to survive. The American Victory Ship is a 1945 WWII ship that served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Built-in only 55 days in the California Shipyard, it stands as an American icon and national treasure as it is only one of 3 fully operational WWII Victory class vessels in the country. This floating museum is open Monday from noon to 5pm, and Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm. The ship embarks on a Relive History Cruise once per year and sails through the Channel for an exciting day of history, fun, music, food, and more.
